COLORFUL COMMUNITIES – 2017 Round-Up

Throughout 2017 many of our sites took part in COLORFUL COMMUNITIESTM which is our global community engagement signature initiative. It aims to protect and beautify the communities where we operate by providing PPG volunteers and products to help transform community assets.

COLORFUL COMMUNITIES Works its Magic

Since launching in 2015, PPG’s Colorful Communities initiative has helped to create vibrant, thriving places around the world. Check out some amazing statistics:

  • 125 Colorful Communities projects in 23 different countries

  • Nearly 6,000 volunteers dedicated more than 34,000 volunteering hours

  • Almost 50,000 liters of paint donated by PPG

  • 4 million+ individuals positively impacted by our Colorful Communities projects

Colorful Communities across EMEA

During 2017, our EMEA sites have been very busy carrying out their own community projects. Below is a list of different projects our PPG employees helped out with.

Rolle, Switzerland

30 PPG volunteers repainted an outer park building in this Swiss heritage site. They also give a fresh coat of paint to the playground equipment and hopscotch board. Find out more about Colorful Communities in Rolle.

Pretoria, South Africa

In South Africa, a group of 60 PPG volunteers came together to revitalize the Kungwini Children’s Home. Find out more about Colorful Communities in Pretoria.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

At the Royal Dutch Guide Dog Foundation, PPG’s amazing team of 50 volunteers painted client rooms, kennels and medical detection room. Find out more about Colorful Communities in Amsterdam.

Birstall, UK

More than 50 volunteers from PPG’s Architectural Coatings plant in Birstall transformed Birstall Primary Academy and Fieldhead Primary Academy schools. Find out more about Colorful Communities in Birstall.

Bezons, France

50 PPG volunteers united together from across the Ile de France region to restore Le Grand Cerf high-school. Find out more about Colorful Communities in Bezons.

Deurne, Belgium

30 PPG employees gave the Beaver school’s neutral-colored playground a new lease of life. Find out more about Colorful Communities in Deurne.

Kecskemét, Hungary

The Hungarian team brought together over 140 volunteers made up of PPG employees and the local community added a splash of color and life back into the weary looking Corvin Mátyás primary school. Find out more about Colorful Communities in Kecskemét.

Millan, Italy

PPG’s Italian team of 125 volunteers helped restore Villa Arconati to its former glory, they revitalised the iron fence and the historical villa’s garden. Find out more about Colorful Communities in Milan.

Wrocław, Poland

40 PPG volunteers for the Polish sites spent five days regenerate the benched in the garden and resting room of the Retirement Home “Samarytanin”. Find out more about Colorful Communities in Wrocław.

Birmingham, UK

Over two days PPG´s team of 30 employees transformed the outdoor of St. Gregory’s Catholic Primary school. Find out more about Colorful Communities in Birmingham.

Quattordio, Italy

In Quattordio, the Colorful Communities team revitalised the exterior wall of its automotive OEM coatings facility with the help of infamous New York street artist Kool Koor. Find out more about Colorful Communities in Quattordio.

Brno, Czech Republic

Shildon, UK

Stowmarket, UK

In Suffolk, 35 volunteers from PPG ‘s Young Professionals Organisation came from all over the UK to regenerate the Holiday Opportunity Play Scheme building. Find out more about Colorful Communities in Stowmarket.
