From Plant to Playground: Kolomna Open Day

In Kolomna, Russia our PPG Revocoat Mastiki site held an open day for the staffs' children to come in and learn about what their parents do at PPG and what they get up to on a daily basis, whilst they're at school!

Held on what is traditionally the first day of the new school year, parents and children arrived on site excited and ready for tours, activities and to meet some unusual and exciting guests.

Over the course of the day, parents lead all 28 children around the plant, teaching them about the work they and the brilliant PPG team at Kolomna do as they went along.

Children from ages 1,5 - 10 and young people from 14 - 16 accompanied by their parents, all gathered at the plant for a day of schooling and mentoring in PPG's paint manufacturing processes.

The tour included various activities from enjoying the onsite views by peering out of the office window and looking down onto the factory floor and learning about the responsibilities of the team, to playing in stationary factory vehicles and learning about paint production. The children were treated to a brilliant first-hand, miniature convention from all the PPG parents and staff attending the event.

Not to forget the event also included some very exciting special guests, including well-known characters from popular cartoon series 'Fiksiki' and the infamous 'Optimus Prime' from the movie 'Transformers'! The special guests came to ready play, equipped with face paints and a soap bubble show. The children were left fascinated that their favourite characters had to come to play at our PPG Kolomna plant!

The day was a success! The parents demonstrated their expertise and professionalism in teaching their children about the operations that go on inside the plant and offices whilst the children had lots of fun discovering what it means to be a part of PPG.
