PPG Wins British Coating Federation's new CSR Award

At this year's British Coating Federation (BCF) Awards, PPG were nominated eight times across five different categories, taking home the award for best in 'Corporate Social Responsibility 2017'!

The British Coatings Federation awarded its first-ever 'Corporate Social Responsibility Award' to PPG Architectural Coatings UK, recognising PPG's far-reaching and generous community engagement programs. The award is BCF's latest addition to its new multi-national corporate social responsibility (CSR) category and PPG are the first company to be honoured with this award.

Judges ranked PPG based on the various programs it has been involved with and the positive and lasting impacts they have had on communities.

Judges also took into account the variety of different schemes and programs. PPG's Make the Grade program, which supported more than 1,300 young people tackle local issues of educational attainment through STEM events, workplace visits and employability days was mentioned alongside the PPG Chemistry Education Project which has provided schools with bursaries to access National Space Academy Masterclasses since 2007.

The COLORFUL COMMUNITIES™ project also received praise, for the work it continues to do in revitalising playgrounds, buildings and outdoor learning spaces, key to local communities.

PPG UK were also commended for their support of chosen charity partners, Prostate Cancer UK and When You Wish Upon a Star. Helen Tiplady, Specification Marketing Manager, shared her thoughts upon receiving the award:

This prestigious award enables us to celebrate with our great people who generously donate their time and effort to our community engagement program. It also gives us the opportunity to express our gratitude to every organisation or group that has helped to make our program possible.

This award honours the collective effort made by all of PPG who continue to push for greater charitable giving in education, community sustainability and employee engagement creating a cohesive and caring global PPG community.
