The Man Who Sails the World

Our Rainmakers possess something uniquely valuable – an infectious passion for what they do. So, it is our delight to introduce you to another 2019 Rainmaker who also shares this passion. He is Periklis Labrinides, senior technical service representative, Protective & Marine Coatings (PMC), Greece.

Periklis’ role at PPG focuses on his provision of on-site technical assistance and advice during the preparation and application of our PMC products. Already a noted colleague, he receives his award in recognition of his professionalism, enthusiasm and can-do attitude towards customers throughout the EMEA region.

It is a great pleasure working for a company that not only appreciates its employees’ efforts but also leverages them in the best possible way.

Customers Always Come First

If you ask Periklis’s colleagues to describe him, they’ll explain that his dedication to delighting his customers is a benchmark that others should aspire to. That certainly sounds like a pretty tough reputation to live up to! Through his personal approach and devotion to his customers, he has created a mutual trust that has had a positive impact on the region’s sales figures.

Having to cooperate with so many people in so many different shipyards around the world, safeguarding PPG’s standards while maintaining the best relations with customers, I believe each case is a challenge in itself.

Twenty Five Years and Counting

In his impressive quarter of a century at PPG, Periklis’s extensive travels have taken him to shipyards throughout EMEA and Asia. Despite this globetrotting life, he still finds the peace and rest he needs for his life by tending to the plants in the garden of his parents in his birthplace, Andros Island. This is where he gets the energy he needs to “reload for new adventures”.

‘I Enjoy Every Minute and Intend to Continue Doing So’

After such a long and productive career at PPG, Periklis takes the time to reflect upon what motivates him. He gets the most out of his job by meeting challenging situations and trying to get the best out of them. It is his patience and continuous effort that has helped him to achieve just that.

Achieving what my company expects of me is a part of my life and the main motivation for me.

The Sea Is My Blood

A career spent in shipyards has indeed made them an important part of his life. He still gets a special vibe from being close to the sea or onboard. With the saltwater truly pumping through his veins, Periklis’s enthusiasm for his work in the shipyards and the customers he meets there comes as no surprise!
