Center for Single Parents Revitalized in Germany

PPG’s COLORFUL COMMUNITIESTM project in Wuppertal, Germany has brightened up the meeting point for single parents and their children.

On 20th of March 2018, PPG’s German Colorful Communities team from the Automotive Coatings facility in Wuppertal, completed an incredible revitalization project that rejuvenated a house in the 'Treffpunkt für Alleinerziehende' organization. This is a center for single-parents and acts as a meeting place which is open to all mothers and fathers, who are responsible for raising children by themselves.

This project took three days to complete and involved more than 40 PPG volunteers who spent their time re-energizing the small house. All volunteers were busy painting the walls, window frames and doors in bright, welcoming colors with more than 240 liters of SIGMA COATINGS® paints.

PPG is so pleased to support the ‘Meeting Point’ efforts that help families in our community. I am also proud of the dedication, creativity and enthusiasm of our volunteers, who made this project a reality. It was an amazing experience from start to finish.
Heiko Stuhl, PPG plant manager, Wuppertal

'Treffpunkt für Alleinerziehende' helps single parents and their children transition back to their normal lives after separation, absence or death. The facility has trained social workers who offer support to both parents and children. It has been great collaborating with this brilliant organization and over 100 people have benefited from this Colorful Communities event.
