Birmingham School Bright and Beautiful
In Birmingham, UK COLORFUL COMMUNITIES™ took another project under its wing, this time it was St. Gregory's Catholic Primary School who were in need of some PPG painting perfection.
Looking for some new-found colorful energy, the primary school, where 200 students aged 3-11 years old attend, was transformed by a team of 30 employee volunteers who spent two, full and hard working days redecorating the school grounds.
Heeding from Birmingham's own PPG UK Automotive OEM Coatings, Industrial Coatings and Brown Brothers Distribution HQ Facility, the volunteering team came prepared with a huge 25 gallons of JOHNSTONE'S® Trade Quick Dry Opaque Wood Finish and another 10 gallons of other, vivid and bright Johnstone's paint products to rejuvenate the tired playground and fencing.
Over the two days our fantastic PPG employees transformed the school's playground, garden and outdoor activity area, complete with all new playground game and track markings as well adding scores of color to the fencing and perimeter.
In addition to redecorating the exterior, volunteers also ran art and design activities with the children to allow everyone to be involved in the creative process.
To celebrate the work achieved by the volunteers and to commemorate the excitement of the newly decorated school St. Gregory's held an 'official opening' event, inviting parents, children and staff to come and see their renewed, colorful learning environment. The redecorated grounds will have a great effect on the children's attainment and engagement at the school. Now pupils will have access to stimulating learning environments both indoors and out and the work put in by all the volunteers will carry on showing for years to come.
