Celebrating Excellence with EPFL Euler Course Graduates
We'd like to offer a huge congratulations to the students who graduated from the Euler Course at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland!
It's the second year in a row where PPG has acted as an official sponsor of the program. The course gives high-potential, young mathematics students in Switzerland an opportunity to cultivate their talent by taking special mathematics classes at the school.
The Euler program was founded in 2008 by Kathryn Hess Bellwald, mathematics professor and researcher at EPFL, inspired by 18th-century Swiss mathematician and physicist Leonhard Euler and modelled on a program started at Johns Hopkins University in the United States.
Around 20 students are selected for the program each year from a massive 300 applicants who take the entrance exam.
As an official sponsor of the program, PPG provides financial support to help inspire the next generation of scientists, mathematicians and engineers.
Since we moved our European headquarters to Rolle 10 years ago, not far from the EPFL campus, the business has developed a strong relationship with the school. Because innovation and research are at the heart of PPG’s business, we embrace collaboration with organisations such as EPFL.
With over 10,000 students and 350 labs and research groups on campus, EPFL is one of the world’s most innovative and productive scientific institutions.
