Charity Partner Program 2018 Round-up!

Throughout 2018, our Charity Partner program was able to massively support and help the lives of those living in communities around us.

Each year, our employees from every site are given the chance to collectively support a charity of their choice through donations, fundraising activities and volunteering their time. With the helping hand of PPG, which matches every dollar of employee donations, our Charity Partners received more than $160,000 in 2018!

Check out our full report and read about all the hard work put in by the amazing teams around EMEA. Here are some outstanding examples of the unique and touching fundraisers our teams organized this year.

Summer Ball in Stowmarket, UK

In aid of Stowmarket’s chosen Charity Partner, AJ’s Legacy, our colleague Kat Terry spent months organizing a traditional summer ball event. Not only would the fundraiser give staff a chance to enjoy the ball atmosphere in the middle of July, but raise money for an incredible 4-year-old named Spencer, who has complex care requirements for cerebral palsy, epilepsy and global developmental delay.

Our Stowmarket team was touched to learn that every penny from the fundraiser would be sent directly to help Spencer and his family!

Charitable Sale in Valencia, Spain

Our colleagues at the Valencia site volunteered to give a helping hand to Asociación Valenciana de Caridad, an organization dedicated to support people living in difficult situations. Among several activities, they held a special solidarity market to collect and sell items donated by employees such as books, accessories and children’s gadgets. They not only supported their Charity Partner but also gave a second home to items which would have been otherwise discarded.

Product Donation in Gliwice, Poland

Colleagues in Poland rallied together to build a bundle of essential household goods including medicine, months-worth of food supplies and even a brand-new oven for a family in need of help. Their efforts were in support of their Charity Partner Fundacja Jesteśmy Blisko.

The Charity Partner team were honored to be able to hand over the collection of household essentials just in time for Christmas. Our Gliwice colleagues were happy to know they could offer a helping hand to a family in need.

Staff Sales in Alberton, South Africa

Across the equator in Alberton, South Africa, our team had chosen to support the charity Amcare, a health and social development organization servicing the poor and vulnerable in the Alberton area.

Taking a unique approach to fundraising, the team decided to raise money through a creative, sustainable method. Rather than disposing of old PROMINENT PAINTS® samples from Research & Development, they began selling them amongst fellow staff for a discounted amount! With this win-win solution, staff bought hundreds of liters of retainer paint samples and at the same time supported Amcare!
