French Teams Embrace 14-day Giving Challenge

Our Architectural Coatings employees in France have excelled in their teamwork efforts! Colleagues in France recently combined their talents and resources to raise more than 25,000€ ($28,500) for the AFM-Téléthon in just two weeks. The high-profile telethon is broadcast in France each year to generate funds to fight muscular dystrophy and other genetic diseases.

Against the Clock

Working against the clock, the French Architectural Coatings team quickly developed and carried out a three-pronged employee engagement strategy to help them achieve their 14-day goal. This included Charity Partner fundraising activities at the EMEA South headquarters in Rueil-Malmaison, France, and sales promotions across PPG’s SEIGNEURIE® distribution network in Paris.

Going the Extra Mile

In addition, nearly 80 employees from our sites around the Paris area participated in our COLORFUL COMMUNITIESTM project to support AFM. They volunteered more than 400 hours of their time to refresh AFM-Téléthon's meeting rooms, common space, and patient/family apartments with donated Seigneurie paints.

This was a massive task with a very quick turn-around time. All our teams used their enthusiasm and energy to make this project a great success, well beyond our expectations.

The project’s success has opened the door to additional partnerships with AFM-Téléthon. In 2019, our partnership will go beyond Seigneurie’s Parisian sites to include more PPG sites in France.
