Hungarian School Restored to Its Prime with COLORFUL COMMUNITIES Project
This time it was Kecskemét, Hungary's turn to be treated to our fantastic COLORFUL COMMUNITIES™ initiative. The location was primary school, Corvin Mátyás local to our Kecskemét PPG Automotive Coatings facility.
Home to 33 PPG employees, the project was organised to bring together over 140 volunteers, made up of employees and local community volunteers. Collaborating together they added a splash of color and life back into the weary looking primary school. Working relentlessly the project lasted for 3 days and left the school looking refreshed, restored and modernised.
PPG generously provided a staggering 460 litres of HÉRA® Prémium waterborne interior paint and TRINÁT® Aqua waterborne enamel paint to help make it all possible, as well as a cash sum to cover project costs. In total, the energetic and determined team were able to cover an impressive 21,500 ft²; redecorating 4 classrooms, 4 changing rooms and the school playground.
The school itself sees 700 students through the year, every year and pre-makeover it was looking a little gloomy and in need of a face-lift. Our team understood the importance of rejuvenating the site, as Antonio Puzio, summarised. He highlighted the importance of how valuable a happy and engaging environment can be and how it's the key to allowing people to enjoy learning and working together:
