We're excited to announce that the relationship between PPG and the Wroclaw University of Economics (WUE) in Poland has been strengthened. The recently formalised agreement opens the door to an array of opportunities for WUE students, faculty members, and PPG employees.

Here are some of the great benefits to both sides of the union:

  • Top PPG specialists will serve as guest lecturers at WUE and share their expertise with students in a variety of areas
  • PPG staff will share their knowledge on everything from IT to project management
  • Students may apply for IT internships within PPG
  • Students can also participate in IT professional development workshops, trainings and projects

Henryk Mendyka, manager, information technology, architectural coatings, Europe, Middle East and Africa (AC EMEA), and PPG’s internship program coordinator explained how the partnership will benefit both sides:

Our cooperation requires understanding of the needs of the University, and the needs of its students and graduates, I hope that we will achieve common benefits that will give the university and its students access to do practical knowledge, and provide our company with access to talented students, potential future employees of PPG.

Looking ahead, the PPG team plans to work closely with WUE students to develop and conduct research projects.

Efforts are also underway to expand the partnership beyond IT services to include business operations and other disciplines.

Existing PPG employees will may also reap the benefits of the newly formed alliance as the WUE is considering the formation of new academic programs to meet the specific educational needs of PPG staff, including possible doctorate degree programs!

The WUE is considered one of the top economic schools of higher education in Poland, and an important science and research centre, Our partnership will be an asset to our operations in EMEA region, giving us access to the latest research as well as some the best and brightest students in Poland.
