PPG Supports Women to Dress for Success

Employees at more than 35 PPG sites throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) continue to help women in need prepare for the workforce and build their economic independence.

With support from the EMEA Women’s Leadership Council (WLC), employees across eight strategic business units recently participated in the global Dress for Success (DFS) campaign, as well as La Cravate Solidaire (LCS) in France. Their efforts netted more than 2,500 pieces of gently used work attire and accessories. DFS and LCS will distribute the clothes to people struggling with difficult economic and social situations who are seeking employment.

This is the second year in a row that employees from EMEA have supported the DFS campaign. The EMEA WLC team became interested in the program after learning about its success at PPG sites in the United States. Based on the positive results of a small pilot program in 2016, the organization expanded the effort in 2017 to include PPG sites in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Our mission is to make sure women and men have the support and resources they need to succeed both personally and professionally. Our support of these organizations is a natural fit that will help people around the world develop the confidence to pursue their dreams.
Isabella Ercole, PPG supply chain director, Automotive OEM Coatings, EMEA, and president, Women’s Leadership Council, EMEA

Dress for Success and La Cravate Solidaire are both non-profit organizations that empowers people to achieve economic independence , providing a network of support (workshops and counseling), professional clothing and tools needed to help them thrive in working environment.
