PPG TRILAK Helps Renovate Ambulance Station

PPG Trilak used 11 million forints (around 35 thousand Euros) of its funds to renovate the rest area of the National Ambulance Service (NAS) located in Markó Street, Budapest.Over 130 employees can now enjoy newly painted walls in the kitchen, dining room, lounge and six bedrooms. PPG donated approximately 300 liters of paint during the renovations, which lasted for over two months.

PPG Trilak decided to combine white and icy moss colors to create a soothing environment. Icy moss, as a Héra Clean color, is an interior wall paint which is wash-resistant, which is highly suitable for the needs of the ambulance crews. PPG Trilak also replaced furniture in the lounge and dining room and fitted new flooring in the bedrooms.

The crew of eight ambulance cars spend their time in-between callouts in the rest area. The surroundings awaiting for them upon returning from the scenes do matter. I remember the conditions when I first started working here as a paramedic in my late teens: peeling plaster and moldy walls. The situation was still the same only a few months ago. This is the first time we have had beautiful walls, renewed parquet and nice new furniture.
Pál Győrfi, spokesman of the NAS

The ambulance station in Markó Street was one of the first in Budapest and its construction started in 1887. Some renovations have been carried out over last 130 years, but there has been no new refurbishment work done in recent years. Győrfi explained:

This is why the building reached such a bad state that we needed help. PPG Trilak heard about this and supported us. With the new renovation, we are now finally able to provide a high-quality working environment.
