A very exciting COLORFUL COMMUNITIES™ project recently took place in Sacavém, Portugal, which helped to refresh the local secondary school, Escola Secundaria de Sacavem. The school, which is over 35 years old, is located nearby our Architectural Coatings facility.
A Big Team Effort
In order to complete this revitalization project, over 140 school teachers, parents, students and PPG volunteers spent approximately 1,600 hours working over ten Saturdays, using more than 2,200 liters of DYRUP
®interior and exterior paints.
All the volunteers were busy painting the classrooms, social areas, sport hall and exterior spaces to make a warm and happy environment for the school’s 1,100 students, 120 teachers and 36 staff. It was important to maintain the school’s identity during the makeover, so the volunteers used the school’s original colors – white, light gray, yellow, green, orange, dark pink and turquoise.
They also helped replace some old equipment, such as lamps, chandeliers, playground equipment, lockers and roller blinds. The final touches were then made with lots of lovely ornamental items and new school signs.
A Gesture of Thanks
All the hard work put in by everyone has made it feel like a brand-new school.
