French Fortune at WorldSkills 2017

The world's largest vocational skills competition, WorldSkills took place in Abu Dhabi, UAE, this year where over 1,300 representatives from 58 nations and 51 skilled backgrounds came together to compete head-to-head.

PPG Architectural Coatings, France and Seigneurie has sponsored WorldSkills in France for five years. The sponsorship is dedicated to training talented young painters and professionals, giving them assistance with their entries and accompanying them to the national and international competition.

This year's WorldSkills event saw entrant Justine Bossard of France win Bronze in the International Painting and Decorating competition! After 4 hectic days of competing Justine impressed the judges with skills and painting precision, making it onto the podium. Now Justine will be recognised as a world-class Painter and Decorator.

This is a major achievement for Justine on the international stage and we are very proud of her success. We have been supporting and training French WorldSkills competitors for many years. It is part of our ongoing commitment to encourage young talent and train the next generation of painting professionals.

PPG young professionals from other regions also took part in this year's competition with Szabolcs Cseke of Hungary taking home a Medal of Excellence in the Painting and Decorating category and being titled the "Best of Nation' among the Hungarian competitors. PPG and Seigneurie now look forward to next year's WorldSkills event in Budapest, where PPG hopes to broaden its sponsorship by serving as a major sponsor to the event whilst continuing to train the next generation of professional painters around the world.
