Prominent Paints in Mozambique - One Year On

Almost one year ago the Prominent Paints team celebrated their partnering with Premier Superspar to expand their reach into the vibrant country of Mozambique.

With its stunning coastline and swaying palm trees, Mozambique is well endowed with rich and extensive natural resources meaning the country's economy is based largely on agriculture, but industry is growing, mainly food, beverages, chemical and manufacturing, as well, of course, as tourism.

As part of our 2016 export strategy plan, PPG was looking for key partners in key territories, Mozambique was one of the countries identified.

Premier Superspar is the latest export partner to join the “Prominent Paint family”. Prominent Paints will be their exclusive paint brand and forms part of their growth strategy in Mozambique.

It's been a story of huge success so far albeit the Mozambican economy has seen a minor recent downturn trend. With the new client the team have achieved a growth of 559% in the territory and it is poised to grow further in 2017.

Prominent Paints has also achieved considerable market penetration into Mozambique and this is translating into an increase in enquiries from the market.

Premier Superspar is now on track to open two new stores in Maputo, in which Prominent Paints will be represented as well as their newly opened Sanitary store. This store is an opportunity to cross merchandise and to capture business from contractors.

HomeCentre is a very prestigious home décor store in Maputo and belongs to the same group. This store is going through a revamp and the team have secured a deal to be paint suppliers. Furthermore, they will have the opportunity to advertise the Prominent Paints brand in the store as products will be used in the interior design of the shop itself!
