Staying Connected and Strengthening Relationships

More than 850 painters and paint companies across Denmark and Sweden are staying connected to each other and to future job opportunities thanks to the support of our architectural coatings team in Scandinavia. Channeling the power of social media, the team recently created Facebook groups in each country to link professional painters with painting companies to complete improvement or renovation projects during the coronavirus crisis.

Through conversations with our customers, we learned that many painting companies had to postpone jobs due to COVID-19 but wanted to keep their painters on the payroll. Similarly, other companies had jobs to complete but no painters to call on.
Michael Nielsen, trade sales manager, AC Dyrup
In response, Nielsen, working with his marketing colleagues, quickly established the two Facebook pages as information clearinghouses and encouraged colleagues to invite every painter they knew to join the groups. Within days, more than 800 painters and companies had signed on and began to build connections.

Since then, several jobs have been completed and the group has organically expanded its focus to include tips and strategies to help them get through this crisis. PPG administer the pages but the painters and companies communicate directly with each other.

Our team listened to our customers and quickly worked together to create a solution that met their needs. In addition to creating value for our customers, this simple effort shows that we are indeed better and stronger together.
