A 40 Year Journey with Tom Campbell

Introducing Tom Campbell, a renowned Technical Coordinator for Industrial Coatings in Birmingham, UK who has now respectfully retired after giving 40 amazing years of service at PPG!

Tom's 40 year journey started at the Ladywood plant in 1977, beginning his career in the Refinish Department. He had a number of successful roles that included Colour Matching, training and working in the Colour Library. In 2001, the Refinish Department relocated to Stowmarket and Tom took the opportunity to learn new skills working in the departments' IT team.

Moving onwards he took the job of Technical Coordinator for Industrial Coatings in 2003. Through-out his time at PPG he has been well-known for his friendly and helpful attitude, always ready to assist anyone no matter what their query or problem was. Retiring in 2017 Tom now looks forward to continuing his hobbies, particularly photography.

Since the beginning of his journey at PPG Tom has always enjoyed spending time travelling to the Scottish West Coast and photographing the beautiful vistas and capturing some of the most dramatic coastlines in the UK. Tom now looks forward to making his first trip to the remote island of St Kilda in Scotland's Outer Hebrides Islands in Spring 2018.

To formally mark his time at PPG, Tom attended a presentation thanking him for his decades of service and hard work where he was praised by all those he worked with. He also attended a retirement meal where he was joined by Richard Westwood, who retired in 2012 after 40 years of service, and Bob Evans who retired in 2017 with 48 years of service, all three started their careers at the Ladywood Plant. Collectively they have given an astonishing 128 years service to PPG!
