Meet Agata Kraus, PPG regional raw materials manager for EMEA who is based in Wroclaw, Poland.
In this episode of our Career Stories, Agata explores how she creates a healthy work-life balance and uses meditative mindfulness as well as sport and rest to ensure she’s present at work and at home.
Agata has worked through an array of challenges since she joined PPG in 2011 as a supply chain specialist. But nothing quite prepared her for her transition from manager to leader.
That was one of the biggest tests I’ve faced. But I was fortunate to have a mentor to help guide me through the process. Professional support is something that really sets PPG apart.
In her current role, Agata and her team work closely with global business unit managers to develop and carry out supply chain strategies that support our local manufacturing sites.
Being a Female Leader in PPG
Her position requires exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a willingness to reach out and develop relationships with colleagues and suppliers. Professional development is also critical to her success, whether is it offered through PPG, our Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) or training sessions.
I feel confident and fully supported as a female leader in PPG. The WLC is a tremendous resource for trainings and career support, as well as for developing lifelong friendships.
Mindfulness & Meditation
Since Agata’s days can be hectic and unpredictable, she often relies on mindfulness to help her stay centered. She also encourages her team to engage in mindfulness practices to help reduce stress. It also helps keep her professional and personal lives in balance.
Mindfulness and meditation keep me grounded and present. That’s critical when our team is trying to secure scarce materials at an equitable price or shipments are unexpectedly delayed, affecting our production schedule.
