PPG announced some very exciting news at the PaintExpo 2018, which was the launch of the MEASURECOLOR MOBILE™ tool to the European market. This equipment is an innovation color platform which allows users to precisely match colors using a scanning device. Cloud-based technology shows PPG color matches, product properties and stock availability within a matter of seconds.

Our new tool uses a scanning device to start the color matching process by connecting customers to over 2,500 frequently specified colors in PPG’s industrial powder coatings color library. Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. These coatings are used in consumer products, general finishing, heaving equipment, auto parts, architectural products and in many other items.
Customers can place the scanner on virtually any surface, from metal and plastic to wood.

The Bluetooth scanning device rapidly reads the color data, calculates the color difference and then generates a PPG color match. This match appears on the customers’ mobile phone or tablet through the MEASURECOLOR app. Thanks to this cutting-edge technology, we can save our customers hours of lab work and reduce their overall production costs.
Advanced Search Results
While color matching is brilliant, this cloud-based service has other added benefits. It can generate vital information regarding orders, such as the product code, gloss range, stock levels and resin chemistry. This allows customers to immediately order the PPG powder coatings they require, saving time and money.
