Aerospace Sales Manager Improves his Swing
Thorsten Schleyer is a key member of staff in Central and Eastern Europe and works in the Aerospace division within PPG.
As part of his role as Senior Sales Manager for Central and Eastern Europe, he acts as Lufthansa Group/Lufthansa Technik Global's Key Account Manager. He's responsible for other major airlines in the Central Europe territory and for OEM business at Pilatus Switzerland.
Since starting at PPG in September 2001 he's made a huge difference to his team and the company through his genuine interest and passion for his work:
I like particularly project work and the international part of the aerospace business.
When he's not jetting off to the next customer meeting, Thorsten enjoys a spending time on the green and has recently become actively involved in his local club for the beginners and is part of the senior club team. A keen putter for over 17 years now, Thorsten caught the bug and never looked back:
I started golfing 1990. A friend invited me to go with him and try out.
And he's actually become quite the talent as evidenced by his qualification to the Audi Amateur Team Championship in Germany and twice becoming team member/winner for the Senior Masters North Germany. Thorsten's ethos in life allows him to stay confident and decisive in both his sport and his professional life:
My ethos is that everyone should take responsibility for themselves and their own actions, never give up even if it is difficult, to be positive and to approach people.
