Career Stories – Thierry Destruhaut

In another episode of Career Stories, we introduce you to, PPG global product portfolio director. Thierry takes us through his 19 years at PPG, how he started in Africa and also spent 4 years in China!

Two decades ago, when he began his PPG career in Africa, Thierry offered technical support to a large portion of the EMEA region. From there, he spent four years in China opening a laboratory for the architectural coatings business, before transitioning to his current role in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Exciting About Innovations, Relaxing Underwater

As global product portfolio director, Thierry is most excited about the coating innovations that we are continuing to develop, such as energy-saving paints and programmable surface coatings.

He helped to demonstrate this technology at our first Innovation Summit as part of our sponsorship of the Omega European Masters. In his spare time, Thierry keeps stress-free through diving and the tranquility of being underwater. He says these moments help him to clear his head and forget all about stress.
