Meet the PPG Stowmarket Firefighters

Introducing four stellar PPG Stowmarket employees, all of whom act as retained firefighters for the Suffolk Fire  Rescue crew!

Among their recent actions is the amazing story where the lives of a mother and her 2 children were saved thanks to a heroic rescue from a first floor window and the fire put out safely. Members of the team include:

Neil Brame

Neil has worked at PPG Stowmarket for the past 34 years working in various different departments in the paint manufacturing facility. Neil’s current role is a Trainer in the Paint plant, training new employees & refreshing the training of existing employees.

In addition, Neil is one of the on-site emergency responders having carried out this role for 27 years. Neil is an on call Crew commander for Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service stationed in Stowmarket and has served the local community for 21 years as a Firefighter.

Carl Theobald

Carl has worked at PPG Stowmarket for the past 20 years working in various different departments. Carl’s current role is working within the EHS team as part of the Site Safety Team, part of his role is to train the onsite emergency responders in life-saving skills, as well as ensuring the high level of safety standards onsite are up held.

Carl is also part of the on-site emergency responder team having carried out this role for 20 years and now carries this duty as an Officer in Charge. Carl is an on call Crew Commander for Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service stationed in Stowmarket and has served the local community for 19 years as a Firefighter.

Andy Gunn

Andy has worked at PPG Stowmarket for the past 33 years working in various different departments in the paint manufacturing facility. Andy’s current role is working within the EHS team as part of the Site Safety Team, part of his role is to train the onsite emergency responders in life-saving skills, as well as ensuring the high level of safety standards onsite are up held.

Andy is also part of the on-site emergency responders having carried out this roll for 27 years, and now carries this duty as an Officer in Charge Andy is an on call Firefighter for Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service stationed in Stowmarket and has served the local community for 27 years in this role.

Ricky Marsh

Ricky has worked at PPG Stowmarket for the past 4 years working in the engineering department. Ricky’s current role is a Maintenance Engineer carrying out maintenance on both Paint & Resin manufacturing facilities in Stowmarket. He's also one of the on-site emergency responders at Stowmarket having carried out this role for 3 years. Ricky is an on call Firefighter for Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service stationed in Stowmarket and has been part for the crew for 1 year.
