PPG Supports Young Talents

Last year, PPG launched the first ever Future Leaders program in EMEA. It allows young professionals to accelerate their development within our company. Here’s an update from the most recent program participants and what they’ve been up to!

The 12 graduates are now on the 18-month scheme which started in the middle of 2017 and will be completed in December 2018. They’re working in different departments in PPG, carrying out varying roles in; Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing & Supply Chain, Research & Development.

This program is helping us develop our potential, reach our goals and make a difference at PPG.

The development program contains three different placements, each lasting up to six months. These have been undertaken in different EMEA countries and strategic business units (SBUs). Most participants have nearly completed their second rotation and are preparing for their final experience.

The cross SBU approach has been a fantastic opportunity for them to see how the different businesses operate and experience cultural diversity. In addition, members will also take part in interactive virtual learning modules.

Participants are developing career-long skills and perspectives that they can apply to their current positions, as well as to any future leadership positions within PPG.

Future Leaders Meeting Business Leaders

In June, the Future Leaders met in Rolle, Switzerland, with the European Leadership Team. They had also an opportunity to meet Michael McGarry, PPG Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. During the meeting, the Future Leaders presented their project experience and lessons learned so far.

They also had a chance to network with our senior leaders and participated in workshops to learn about leadership, effective communication and conflict management.

The learning journey has been amazing, I have received in-depth coaching from my manager and been given so much career support.
